Marci Ford has devoted herself to learning, living and teaching the Word of God. As a girl growing up in Edina, Minnesota, the daughter of a loving and gifted pastor, Marci came to know Jesus as her Savior at the age of six. Almost immediately, she wanted to know more and more about the Bible and before long it was obvious to family and friends. She had a desire to be like her dad and teach. In the ensuing years, Marci’s hunger for the Word led her to Bethel College and later to Bethel Seminary. But, it was at Community Bible Study where everything came together and she knew that the Lord was calling her to teach. She attended class regularly, later moved into leadership as ministry coordinator and eventually associate teaching director. With her three children approaching college age, Marci entered the business world as administrator for a CPA firm. Soon, the demands of a career began to compete with the strong call of God to teach through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. So, with the full support and encouragement of her husband, Denny, Marci “retired” from her business career to devote herself to studying, writing and teaching God’s Word.
In 1996, Marci founded what would become “In The Word Bible Studies,” at first as a women-only morning Bible study, and later, with the urging of her students, she opened an evening class to anyone with the desire to learn. Today, In The Word has weekly morning and evening classes and continues its journey through the Bible. In the Word has developed into a complete Bible study ministry using curriculum written by Marci, a children’s program, internet resources and recorded lectures. As someone who would panic at the thought of speaking in public, God has used Marci in ways she never imagined. Marci is an inspiration to anyone who knows her. She is a devoted wife, mother and mentor; a constant source of grace, comfort, encouragement and love to her family, friends and students. Without a doubt, Marci is a gifted teacher, writer, and public speaker.
