Definition:
The Bible is a collection of books and means “Book of Books”
This Book of Books contains a whole library:
- 66 books (39 in Old Testament and 27 in New Testament)
Most unique book because it was written:
- over a period of 1,500 years
- by 40 authors with different occupations
- on 3 continents (Asia, Europe and Africa)
- in 3 languages (Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek)
- using different literary styles (history, law, epic stories, drama, poetry, proverbs, prayers, etc.)
Yet, it is one story and has one message. It is God’s story of His love for man and His desire for a personal relationship with us; it is His story.
